Zusammenfassung

Das neuronale Fundament unserer Kulturleistungen ist einem Entwicklungsprozess unterworfen, der über funktionelle und anatomische Magnetresonanzbildgebung beobachtet werden kann. Diese Reifungsprozesse verlaufen bei verschiedenen Jugendlichen unterschiedlich rasch, sodass sich darüber auch Wechselwirkungen mit der Schullaufbahn und schulischen Leistungen ergeben. Im Fall der räumlich-numerischen Kognition spielt u. a. die Myelinisierung des Fasciculus longitudinalis superior eine entscheidende Rolle, weil diese Faserverbindung für das Vermitteln zwischen sprachlichem Zahlenkode und numerischer Größenvorstellung relevant ist. Die neurowissenschaftliche Darstellung anatomischer Reifeprozesse und deren Einfluss auf die schulrelevanten Prozesse der Zahlenverarbeitung können im Lichte pädagogischer oder schulpsychologischer Überlegungen dienlich erscheinen.
