Kommunikationspräferenzen chronischer Rückenschmerzpatienten in der medizinischen Rehabilitation

Hintergrund

Der Interventionserfolg bei chronischen Schmerzpatienten kann von einer gelungenen Patient-Behandler-Kommunikation abhängen. Die Patient-Behandler-Kommunikation bei Patienten mit chronischen Rückenschmerzen (CRS) wurde selten untersucht. Die vorliegende Studie überprüft zwei Fragestellungen: Was ist Patienten mit CRS bezüglich der Kommunikation mit ihrem Arzt wichtig? Zeigen sich abhängig von soziodemografischen Patientenmerkmalen interindividuelle Unterschiede hinsichtlich der Kommunikationspräferenzen?

Methodik

Die Patientenpräferenzen wurden mit dem KOPRA-Fragebogen erfasst (32 Items, 4 Skalen). Bei den 701 teilnehmenden Rehabilitanden mit CRS lag der Altersmittelwert bei 51±11,1 Jahren, 60% der Teilnehmer waren weiblich.

Ergebnisse

CRS-Patienten empfinden eine effektive und offene Kommunikation des Arztes als am wichtigsten. Das Geschlecht (je nach Skala: p= 0,01–0,82) und das Alter (p=0,01–0,12) scheinen in Zusammenhang mit manchen Wünschen im Patient-Behandler-Gespräch zu stehen.

Schlussfolgerung

Durch Berücksichtigung der individuellen Kommunikationspräferenzen von CRS-Patienten kann der Behandler gezielt auf diese eingehen und so eventuell zu einem größeren Behandlungserfolg beitragen.
