Zusammenfassung

Die Migräne ist ein Risikofaktor für klinisch manifeste Schlaganfälle, echte migränöse Infarkte sind aber selten. Sie kommt in relevanter Weise als „stroke mimic“ infrage, ebenso können ischämische Schlaganfälle symptomatische Migräneattacken triggern. Der pathophysiologische Zusammenhang von Migräne und zerebraler Ischämie ist bisher nur unvollständig verstanden. An Befunde einer reduzierten Ischämietoleranz bei Migränepatienten und erste Daten zu einer gemeinsamen genetischen Basis von Migräne und Schlaganfall knüpft sich die Hoffnung einer weiteren Entschlüsselung der biologischen Basis dieser Komorbidität.
