Die Suche nach alternativen Methoden in der Hypertoniebehandlung ist vor dem Hintergrund einer nahezu einmaligen Erfolgsgeschichte in der Behandlung innerer Krankheiten zu sehen. Abbildung 1 zeigt die Überlebensrate von Hypertoniepatienten in Abhängigkeit von der Schwere der Hypertonie bei Männern und Frauen zu einer Zeit, als noch keine effektive Pharmakotherapie verfügbar war. Man kann aus Abbildung 1 entnehmen, dass die Lebenserwartung für Hypertoniker damals in dem Bereich lag, wie er heute für metastasierende Malignome anzunehmen ist. …
