Operative Therapie von Wirbelsäulenmetastasen urologischer Tumoren

Zusammenfassung

Die Behandlung von Knochenmetastasen urologischer Tumoren stellt – bis auf die Resektion solitärer Metastasen von Nierenzellkarzinomen – eine palliative Therapieform dar. Aufgrund der hohen Inzidenz von Wirbelkörpermetastasen können für den Patienten hierbei klinisch bedeutende Symptome und mögliche Komplikationen wie Schmerzen, eine Instabilität der Wirbelsäule oder eine Spinalkanalkompression mit entsprechenden neurologischen Ausfallserscheinungen resultieren. Durch gezielte Diagnostik und Einleitung strahlentherapeutischer und/oder chirurgischer Therapien kann bei einem Großteil der Patienten eine unmittelbare Schmerzreduktion, sowie eine frühzeitige Mobilisierung und teils auch eine Regredienz bestehender neurologischer Ausfallserscheinungen und somit eine bessere Lebensqualität erreicht werden.
