Pericardial effusion after guidewire perforation during percutaneous coronary intervention can lead to life-threatening cardiac tamponade [1]. Emergency treatment strategies include immediate reversal of anticoagulation, prolonged balloon inflation, implantation of stent grafts, local placement of fibrin glue or microcoils, pericardial drainage, and open-heart surgery [2]. …
