Was sollte der Pneumologe über Palliativmedizin wissen?

Zusammenfassung

Palliativmedizin ist mit dem Fachgebiet der Pneumologie untrennbar verbunden, da hier viele unheilbare Erkrankungen mit eingeschränkter Lebenserwartung behandelt werden. Techniken der Kommunikation zur Überbringung schlechter Nachrichten sowie partizipativer Entscheidungsfindung sind unabdingbar für den klinisch tätigen Arzt. Daneben sind Kenntnisse der Symptomkontrolle jenseits der kausalen Therapie bei Dyspnoe, Schmerz und weiteren Symptomen notwendig.
