Sonographische Bildgebung im ersten Drittel der Schwangerschaft zielt mitnichten ausschließlich oder auch nur vorwiegend auf die Ergebnisse des Ersttrimesterscreenings ab. Vielmehr ermöglicht die kontinuierliche Fortentwicklung der Ultraschalltechnik, u. a. durch die Etablierung der hochfrequenten Transvaginalsonographie, bereits im I. Trimester die Beurteilung der morphologischen Entwicklungsprozesse der Fruchtanlage und des Embryo/Fetus. Dabei sind Routineultraschalluntersuchungen von indikationsgebundenen „spezialisierten“ Sonographien zu unterscheiden [1]. …
