This is a wonderful book, even for plastic surgeons. Firstly, it is a paperback; secondly, the cost is only $65.00 US: and thirdly, it is multi-authored, three authors from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and three others from Texas, South Carolina, and Massachusetts respectively. The book lives up to its subtitle—"A Rapid Treatment Guide". The whole range of acute dermatology is presented in 121 sections, with an extra section at the beginning of the book on cutaneous anthrax. Each section has a basic format of patient history, physical examination, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, treatment, and management/follow-up. There are beautiful colored photographs of each condition. The presentation is clear and succinct, rarely does this exceed three pages. Best of all, for American dermatologists or plastic surgeons, the ICD code is provided. …
