To the Editor: We read with interest “A comparative evaluation of presepsin with procalcitonin and CRP in diagnosing neonatal sepsis” in the online first articles of your esteemed journal and found it very useful [1]. Presepsin is a promising biomarker in the diagnosis of sepsis in adults and recently it has been explored for neonatal sepsis too [2]. There was a felt need for a novel biomarker for early diagnosis of neonatal sepsis [3] and looking at the results of this study presepsin seems promising. We would like to highlight certain points, clarification of which will bring more clarity to it and will be useful to the readers. …
