Zusammenfassung

Die gastrointestinale Sonographie ist ein wichtiges Instrumentarium in der täglichen Praxis des angehenden und praktizierenden Gastroenterologen. Sie kann als das „Stethoskop des Gastroenterologen“ bezeichnet werden. Sie ist allerdings in besonderem Maße von der Erfahrung des Untersuchers abhängig. Diese Arbeit vermittelt das notwendige und aktuelle Wissen der gastroenterologischen Sonographie und gibt einen Überblick über das Indikationsspektrum beginnend mit der Sonographie am Gastrointestinaltrakt. Die Möglichkeiten zeitgemäßer transabdomineller sonographischer Techniken werden erläutert.
