Zusammenfassung

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) ist eine chronische, rezidivierende Erkrankung des Haarfollikels, die sich mit druckdolenten Knoten, Abszessen und Fisteln manifestiert. Die Pathophysiologie der Erkrankung umfasst neben zahlreichen Faktoren auch dermatoendokrinologische Aspekte: Die Korrelation mit dem metabolischen Syndrom, mit Geschlechtshormonen, das Ansprechen auf Antiandrogene sind einige von den Punkten, die in diesem Review zusammengefasst und präsentiert werden. Die hormonelle Behandlung kann eine effektive und günstige Alternative oder Zusatztherapie zu den klassischen Therapieoptionen sein, insbesondere bei Fällen, in denen Antibiotika und/oder Biologika unwirksam oder kontraindiziert sind.
