Important advances have been made in the field of endoscopic treatment of gastroesophageal malignancies in the last decade. In this review, we outline recent updates in imaging modalities for diagnosing and staging early esophageal cancer, and describe how new imaging techniques may improve the efficiency of endoscopy in detecting early neoplasia, and aid in surveillance after endoscopic ablation. We also review recent evidence of endoscopic management of high-grade dysplasia (HGD) and intramucosal carcinoma (IMC), and cover advances in endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for early gastric cancer (EGC). …

S3-Leitlinie „Diagnostik und Therapie des Karpaltunnelsyndroms“

Prof. Dr. med. Gregor Antoniadis Das Karpaltunnelsyndrom ist die häufigste Kompressionsneuropathie peripherer Nerven. Obwohl die Anamnese mit dem nächtlichen Einschlafen der Hand (Brachialgia parästhetica nocturna) sehr typisch ist, ist eine klinisch-neurologische Untersuchung und Elektroneurografie in manchen Fällen auch eine Neurosonografie erforderlich. Im Anfangsstadium sind konservative Maßnahmen (Handgelenksschiene, Ergotherapie) empfehlenswert. Bei nicht Ansprechen der konservativen Therapie oder Auftreten von neurologischen Ausfällen ist eine Dekompression des N. medianus am Karpaltunnel indiziert.
