Änderung der Herzratenvariabilität durch die Atlasimpulstherapie nach Arlen

Zusammenfassung

In der Manualtherapie und Osteopathie fällt immer wieder auf, dass neben den lokalen Veränderungen der Gelenkfunktion auch unmittelbare Befundänderungen in anatomisch weit auseinander liegenden Gebieten auftreten. Diese Beobachtungen lassen die Annahme zu, dass die manuellen Eingriffe Veränderungen sowohl im peripheren als auch im autonomen und zentralen Nervensystem bewirken. Quantität und Qualität dieser Veränderungen sind anscheinend sogar entscheidend für die Effektivität und Nachhaltigkeit eines therapeutischen Eingriffs aus dem Behandlungsspektrum der manuellen bzw. osteopathischen Therapie. Unter Berücksichtigung solcher Erkenntnisse aus dem klinischen Alltag befasste sich das Autorenteam mit möglichen Untersuchungsverfahren, die geeignet sind, diese zu beweisen. Die Verfahren sollten leicht zu wiederholen, sicher und kostengünstig sein. Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird der Frage nachgegangen, ob die unmittelbare Wirkung des Atlasimpulses nach Arlen auf das autonome Nervensystem durch Messung und Analyse der Herzratenvariabilität nachgewiesen werden kann.
