Wetterbedingungen und Klimawandel nehmen Einfluss auf Allergien

Zusammenfassung

Der Klimawandel, insbesondere der Temperatur- und CO2-Anstieg, hat Auswirkungen auf die Gesundheit insbesondere vulnerabler Gruppen wie Kinder, Ältere und sozial schwächere Personen. Auch Asthmatiker haben durch ihre unspezifische und allergenspezifische bronchiale Hyperreaktivität ein besonderes Risiko, unter den Folgen des Klimawandels zu leiden. Der Klimawandel hat Auswirkungen auf die Bildung, Freisetzung und Zahl von allergenen Pollen in ganz Europa. Insbesondere Baumpollen treten früher und in höherer Zahl auf, Gräserpollen werden wenig beeinflusst, Beifußpollen zeigen eine abnehmende Tendenz. Die sich in Europa ausbreitende Ambrosia hat in Deutschland noch eine nur regional allergologische Bedeutung. Gewitterperioden stellen ein Risiko für Pollenasthmatiker dar. Die Veränderung von Schimmelpilzen ist wenig untersucht, eine Zunahme von Mycelwachstum und Sporenbildung wird erwartet. Durch wärmere Winter kann es zu Veränderungen der Milbenpopulationen kommen.
