The Charles Bonnet syndrome (CBS) is a condition characterized by vivid visual hallucinations in the presence of visual sensory deprivation and in the absence of psychosis and cognitive impairment. It occurs mostly in elderly individuals. Patients experience episodic, vivid often complex visual hallucinations such as people, moving objects or landscapes, which may erroneously be attributed to psychiatric illness. However, insight to the visual phenomena is retained in the context of loss of vision [1]. This report, from a clinical practical view, aims to highlight a misdiagnosis and inappropriate therapy that may result if CBS is overlooked. …
