Advanced forms of diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH) or Forestier’s disease can induce dysphagia and significant respiratory symptoms such as hoarseness, dyspnea, snoring and laryngeal stridor. Severe respiratory distress is very rare [1]. We report an unusual presentation of this disorder in a patient with Down syndrome. A 50-year-old male with Down syndrome was referred because of episodes of sudden anxiety and aggression and recurrent pneumonias. Recent evaluation at the pneumology ward of another hospital revealed normal oxygen saturation and normal routine chest radiography. A mild bronchitis was diagnosed and moxifloxacine was administered. Because of persisting episodes of anxiety and aggression, he was referred to the neurology ward. …
