A female adolescent, 12 years and 3 months of age, presented with swelling and a painful hard lump on her right arm, diagnosed as Ewing sarcoma. The tumor was surgically removed and the patient received a prosthesis. One month after diagnosis, chemotherapeutic treatment was started. Chemotherapy was given for 17 months, and consisted of ifosfamide (9 cycles), etoposide (9 cycles), dexamethasone, mesna, cyclophosphamide (6 cycles), carboplatin (5 cycles), adriamycin (5 cycles), and vincristine (6 cycles). Scintigraphic examinations over follow-up at the Pediatric Oncology Unit revealed no tumor relapse. …
