Zusammenfassung

Täglich müssen Zahnärzte, Mund-Kiefer-Gesichts(MKG)- und Oralchirurgen mit der Komplexität oraler Blutungen umgehen. An postoperativen Blutungsereignissen leiden in der Zahnheilkunde besonders ältere Patienten. Zum einen liegt bei dieser Patientengruppe ein erhöhter Sanierungsbedarf mit einer häufigeren Indikation für oralchirurgische Eingriffe vor. Zum anderen wird in diesen Fällen die deutliche Zunahme von Blutungen durch den vermehrten Einsatz gerinnungshemmender Medikamente, v. a. infolge der hohen Prävalenzrate von kardiovaskulären Erkrankungen, beeinflusst. Neben der eigentlichen chirurgischen Behandlung haben Maßnahmen zur Vermeidung einer Blutung eine hohe Priorität. In den letzten Jahren ist die Tranexamsäure als lokal anwendbares Antifibrinolytikum auch in Deutschland auf steigendes Interesse gestoßen. Sie bietet mit einem geringen Nebenwirkungsspektrum nicht nur bei Patienten unter gerinnungshemmender Medikation eine beachtliche Behandlungsunterstützung.
