Zusammenfassung

Die ambulant erworbene Pneumonie („community aquired pneumonia“, CAP) ist eine häufige und potenziell tödliche Erkrankung. Vor dem Hintergrund einer hohen Letalität innerhalb der ersten Tage ist bei klinischem Verdacht die unverzügliche Einleitung einer rationalen Diagnostik und Therapie von entscheidender prognostischer Bedeutung. In der vorliegenden Übersichtsarbeit wird die aktuelle nationale Leitlinie zur Diagnostik und Therapie der CAP vorgestellt. Besonderer Fokus wird auf ein risikoadaptiertes Vorgehen zur raschen Identifikation von kritisch kranken Patienten gelegt. Die Risikostratifizierung hat ferner Einfluss auf die durchzuführende Diagnostik und adäquate Therapieeinleitung. Ferner gibt es neue Empfehlungen zur Prävention der CAP, die in diesem Artikel diskutiert werden.
