Anton syndrome (i.e., Anton’s blindness or visual anosognosia) is a rare manifestation parenchymal insult to the occipital cortex, which can propagate vision loss with normal pupillary reflex, lack of awareness of any deficit, and confabulation [1]. Patients afflicted with cortical blindness will affirm often quite adamantly despite conflicting evidence that they are capable of seeing. This visual anosognosia is related to injury of the visual pathway distal to the lateral geniculate body. Anton syndrome is most commonly caused by bilateral occipital ischemia due to involvement of both posterior cerebral arteries. Nevertheless, other causes such as encephalopathy, head trauma, or eclampsia have been described [2]. …
