Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Zur Diagnostik des endgültigen nichtbehebbaren Ausfalls der Gesamtfunktion des Großhirns, des Kleinhirns und des Hirnstamms bei Patienten unter extrakorporalen Unterstützungssystemen wird die Durchführung eines Apnoetests gefordert.

Ziel der Arbeit

Beschreibung der Durchführung des Apnoetests im Allgemeinen und unter extrakorporaler Zirkulation.

Material und Methoden

Review der aktuellen Literatur.

Diskussion

Der Apnoetest ist Teil der klinischen Diagnostik des irreversiblen Hirnfunktionsausfalls. Auch bei Patienten unter extrakorporalen Unterstützungssystemen ist er leicht und ohne Gefährdung des Patienten durchzuführen.
