Adhesive small bowel obstruction (aSBO) can occur following two different mechanisms (39% single band adhesion (SBA) and 61% matted adhesions (MA)).
1 SBA could be the indication of choice for early surgery. A radiologic score to predict the SBA (≥ 5) has recently been described and allows for the diagnosis of SBA with a sensitivity and a specificity of 67.6% and 84.6%.
2 Its application in clinical practice remains to be defined. The aim was to assess the value of a previously described radiological predictive score of SBA in predicting the failure of medical treatment of aSBO. …
