This issue of Pediatric Surgery International (PSI) inaugurates a new relationship between the journal and the Asian Association of Pediatric Surgeons. In this issue, the best eight papers presented at the 21st Congress of the Asian Association of Pediatric Surgeons in Bangkok, from 16–19 November 2008, are published. These manuscripts represent the high quality of clinical and scientific work being done by pediatric surgeons from Asia. Every second year, one of the issues of the PSI will be devoted to papers presented at the biennial meeting of the Asian Association of Pediatric Surgeons. All the manuscripts are peer reviewed by the Publication Committee of the Asian Association of Pediatric Surgeons. We look forward to a long relationship between the two organizations. …
