Currently, many patients achieve clinical complete response (cCR) to neoadjuvant therapies [neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) and neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NACRT)]. In patients with pathological complete response (pCR), conservative treatment may be an option so as to avoid invasive surgery. However, there is no consensus on the best treatment for patients with resectable esophageal cancer showing cCR to neoadjuvant therapy,
