The risk of recurrence has always been a hot topic in clinical practice. It also affects the adjuvant treatment strategy after surgery. Previously, pTNM staging could better predict the risk of recurrence in patients undergoing surgery alone. However, with the widespread development of preoperative neoadjuvant therapy, pTNM staging is no longer able to accurately predict the risk of recurrence.
