The number of patients in which a potentially curable option for liver metastasis from colorectal cancer (CRLM) may be achieved is increasing. Both oncologists and surgeons have developed strategies and increased their armamentarium with several tools to save more patients. Regarding liver surgical alternatives, the main options for bilateral CRLM are two-stage hepatectomy and ALPPS-based procedures (including all its modifications).
