The role of tumor PD-L1 expression in the prognosis of GC still remained to be controversial.
1,2 Except tumor membrane PD-L1, extracellular soluble and exosomal forms of PD-L1 also existed in the tumor microenvironment.
3,4 Previous studies have almost focused on the role of soluble PD-L1 in cancer patients. However, exosome secreted by tumors plays an important role in regulating tumor immune escape. Exosomal PD-L1 might not only inhibit and kill T cells in local tumor microenvironment and even exert its function in the distant area, leading tumor immune escape. However, it is unknown whether gastric cancer cells could secrete exosomal PD-L1, what is the potential effect in gastric cancer patients, and the difference between exosomal PD-L1 and sPD-L1. …
