Therapie des Basalzellkarzinoms

Zusammenfassung

Das Basalzellkarzinom (BCC) ist der häufigste maligne Tumor hellhäutiger Menschen. Trotz seines niedrigen Metastasierungspotenzials kann das BCC durch invasives Wachstum zu erheblichen Gewebezerstörungen und Entstellungen führen. Neben der klinischen und histologischen Diagnose wurden moderne bildgebende Verfahren wie die optische Kohärenztomographie und die konfokale Lasermikroskopie eingeführt. BCCs mit aggressivem Wachstum und/oder erhöhter Rezidivgefahr werden bevorzugt chirurgisch behandelt. Für superfizielle BCCs stehen eine Reihe topischer Behandlungen und die photodynamische Therapie zur Verfügung. Inhibitoren des Sonic-Hedgehog-Signalweges sind für die Behandlung des metastasierten BCC und des lokal fortgeschrittenen, nicht mehr chirurgisch oder strahlentherapeutisch behandelbaren BCC zugelassen. Genaue Kenntnisse des klinischen Spektrums des BCC und die Auswahl einer geeigneten Therapie sind für die erfolgreiche Behandlung des BCC ausschlaggebend.
