Bewältigung der Multiplen Sklerose in der Partnerschaft

Eine systematische Literaturübersicht

Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Multiple Sklerose (MS) wird wie andere chronische Erkrankungen nicht nur von den Erkrankten selbst, sondern auch von ihren Partnern alltäglich erlebt.

Zielsetzung/Methode

Um den derzeitigen Wissensstand zur partnerschaftlichen Bewältigung von MS zu explorieren und Hinweise auf Faktoren zu erhalten, die diese Bewältigung positiv beeinflussen, wurde eine systematische Literatursuche in den Datenbanken Cinahl, Medline und PsycINFO mit den Stichworten „multiple sclerosis“, „spouses“, „couples“, „married couple“, „dyadic system“, „dyadic systems“ und „dyads“ durchgeführt. Die Ergebnisse wurden den Kategorien des „developmental-contextual model of couples coping with chronic illness across the adult life span“ zugeordnet.

Ergebnisse

Es ergab sich ein umfassendes Bild des Bewältigungsprozesses der mit MS lebenden Paare, aus dem deutlich hervorgeht, dass beide Partner belastende Gefühle wie Unsicherheit, Angst, Depression und Distress erleben. Die partnerschaftliche Bewältigung der sich zumeist stetig verändernden Situationen und den damit verbundenen Belastungen gelingt denjenigen Paaren am besten, die einen Austausch der gegenseitigen Wahrnehmungen pflegen, sich in offenen Gesprächen über die wechselnden psychischen und physischen Belastungen in Kenntnis setzten und ihre Vorstellungen bezüglich Sinnfindung und Lebenszufriedenheit synchronisieren.

Schlussfolgerungen

Die gezielte Unterstützung der dyadischen Bewältigung könnte zu einer Belastungsreduktion sowie einer höheren Partnerschaftszufriedenheit der mit MS lebenden Paare führen.
