Congenital anomalies of the systemic venous return to the heart are a well-known phenomenon with varying physiologic consequences. A persistent left superior vena cava (LSVC) is the most common systemic venous anomaly, with an incidence of 0.3 to 0.5 % in the general population [2]. However, it may be underrecognized if no physiologic shunting exists and no studies have been performed to show its existence. …
