Zusammenfassung

Bei der Diagnostik von Metastasen maligner Tumoren spielen Bild gebende Verfahren eine zentrale Rolle. Die zahlreichen zur Verfügung stehenden Modalitäten sind vielfältig, unterliegen einer ständigen technischen Weiterentwicklung und umfassen sowohl morphologische als auch funktionelle Techniken. Für einen effizienten und kostengünstigen Einsatz der Modalitäten sind eingehende Kenntnisse der Leistungsfähigkeit und Grenzen der einzelnen Verfahren erforderlich. Im Folgenden werden die wichtigsten Untersuchungsverfahren wie konventionelle Röntgendiagnostik, Ultraschall, Computertomographie, Magnetresonanztomographie und Positronenemissionstomographie vorgestellt, ihre Einsatzgebiete bei der Diagnostik von typischen Metastasenlokalisationen diskutiert und Empfehlungen für die tägliche onkologische Praxis gegeben.
