11. Bildgebung der Wirbelsäule

Zusammenfassung

Bildgebung ist die Grundlage der erfolgreichen Therapie von Wirbelsäulentraumata. Hingegen unterliegt die Behandlung degenerativer Pathologien vielen radiologisch nicht fassbaren Einflüssen. Die Bildgebung korreliert nicht zwingend mit dem klinischen Bild. Trotzdem ist sie ein unabdingbarer diagnostischer Pfeiler der Wirbelsäulentherapie, können sich doch auch entzündliche und tumoröse Veränderungen hinter einem »unspezifischen« Rückenschmerz verstecken. Rückenschmerzen sind oft die ersten Zeichen eines evtl. bereits metastasierten Tumors. Planungen der operativen Therapie basieren auf einer exakten radiologischen Analyse. Parameter, die die Stellung des Beckens im Raum und das Verhältnis der Ausrichtung der Wirbelsäulenabschnitte zueinander und zum Becken beschreiben, gewinnen ein zunehmendes diagnostisches Gewicht und korrelieren mit der postoperativen Patientenzufriedenheit. Das Kapitel beleuchtet die diagnostischen Notwendigkeiten und Möglichkeiten in der Abklärung und Behandlungsplanung von Wirbelsäulenpathologien infolge Trauma, Entzündung, Tumor, Degeneration und Deformität.
