This compelling medical memoir by Kurt Newman, M.D., captures the reasons so many of us fell in love with pediatric medicine (Fig. 1). The stories create a vivid picture of the privilege and rewards in providing medical care to children. I highly recommend this book to anyone exploring pediatric medicine as a potential career or who is already practicing in the field. His words are a necessary reminder of why pediatrics is so special and inspire us to action.
