A 1-year-old boy presented to the emergency room with respiratory distress and cyanosis. He was the first baby of healthy unrelated parents. Examination showed tachypnea and tachycardia. The boy’s blood pressure was 70/40, and his oxygen saturation (SPO2) was 84% with room air. Chest auscultation showed diminished air entry with diffuse wheezes.
