The Geisinger Bariatric Surgery Registry [
1] was used to identify patients who underwent bariatric surgery and completed the Weight Bias Internalization Scale (WBIS) at least once before and after surgery. Participants (
N = 111) underwent surgery between 2013 and 2016. Extracted data included demographics and weight outcomes. Participants completed the WBIS at nutrition and weight management appointments as part of standard care. Institutional Review Board approval was obtained from the healthcare system.
