Ein Modell für das deutsche Gesundheitswesen?

Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Das American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) startete 2011 die Choosing Wisely Initiative (CWI).

Material und Methoden

Mit dieser Initiative werden fachspezifische Top-5-Listen mit der Zielsetzung erstellt, diagnostische und therapeutische Maßnahmen, die den Patienten nicht nützen, sondern potenziell sogar schaden, zu reduzieren und damit die Kosten im Gesundheitswesen zu senken. Die von der American Geriatrics Society und der American Medical Director Association 2013 veröffentlichten Vorschläge werden diskutiert.

Ergebnisse

Der Prozess, so einfach er zunächst erscheint, wirft dennoch vielfältige Fragen auf. Eine Übertragung auf Deutschland scheint grundsätzlich möglich, sollte aber weitere Aspekte des Gesundheitswesen und seiner Organisation berücksichtigen.
