Abstract
Hypersomnia is characterized by an unusual increase in sleepiness, which can significantly impair functioning and negatively affect performance. Short-term sleepiness has been reported as an adverse event following immunization with COVID-19 vaccination, but persistent hypersomnia is rare. Here we report two cases of Obstructive Sleep Apnea, one on positive airway pressure treatment and other treatment naïve, who developed hypersomnia following COVID vaccination with COVISHIELD. The findings suggest that COVID-19 vaccines can trigger sleepiness and reinforces the need to take a history of recent COVID-19 vaccination in patients with unexplained Excessive daytime sleepiness.
