Zusammenfassung

Die Computertomographie (CT) trägt zu einem wesentlichen Teil zur diagnostischen Strahlenexposition bei, deswegen muss die Indikation zur CT bei Kindern besonders streng gestellt werden. Zahlreiche Faktoren beeinflussen die Höhe der Strahlenexposition, wobei nur einige vom Anwender veränderbar sind. Die fundierte Kenntnis der Zusammenhänge zwischen technischer Durchführung und resultierender, diagnostisch erforderlicher Bildqualität kann zu einer drastischen Reduktion der Strahlenexposition führen und hat wiederum Einfluss auf die Indikationsstellung. In der Arbeit werden dem Radiologen Werkzeuge zur Optimierung der CT-Untersuchungen beim Kind an die Hand gegeben und etablierte Indikationen zur CT aller Körperregionen dargestellt.
