Zusammenfassung

Getrieben durch die Neigung zur Bildung verschiedenster Autoantikörper ist der systemische Lupus erythematodes (SLE) eine hoch variable Erkrankung. Das führt zeitweise zu einem übertriebenen Respekt vor der Komplexität des Krankheitsbilds und zu Unsicherheit im Umgang mit betroffenen Patentinnen und Patienten. Heute lassen sich aber die wichtigsten Maßnahmen in Diagnose und Management der Erkrankung auf ein übersichtliches Ausmaß herunterbrechen. Dabei helfen die neuen Empfehlungen der European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) zum SLE und die gemeinsam von EULAR und der European Renal Association/European Dialysis and Transplant Association (ERA/EDTA) entwickelten Empfehlungen zur Lupusnephritis, aber auch die neuen Klassifikationskriterien von EULAR und American College of Rheumatology (ACR). In diesem Beitrag werden die Kernpunkte dieser Publikationen zusammengefasst und ein zeitgemäßes SLE-Management vermittelt. So gemanagt ist der SLE in der Regel sehr gut behandelbar.
