Fieberkrämpfe bei Erwachsenen?

Zusammenfassung

Fieberkrämpfe sind in aller Regel Gelegenheitsanfälle in der Kindheit mit einem eher engen Zeitfenster, in dem sie auftreten können. Die Beziehungen der Fieberkrämpfe zu bestimmten Syndromen [Temporallappenepilepsien, „generalized epilepsy with febrile seizures plus“ (GEFS+)] hat sie zu einer pathophysiologisch interessanten und eigenen Anfallsform gemacht. Der vorliegende Beitrag versucht zu klären, inwiefern Fieberkrämpfe auch im Erwachsenenalter möglich sind. Zusammenfassend kann aus der Analyse der publizierten Familien mit GEFS+-Syndrom rückgefolgert werden, dass es wohl einzelne Erwachsene gibt, bei denen solche Anfälle bei Fieber persistieren können. Unklar bleibt aber, inwiefern der Zusammenhang bei Erwachsenen zum Fieber wirklich eindeutig ist, da es sich bei der Angabe von Fieberkrämpfen meist um nicht sehr detaillierte Angaben von Angehörigen handelt. Eine eigene Entität von Fieberkrämpfen im Erwachsenenalter ist nicht zu vermuten.
