Zusammenfassung

Das Basalzellkarzinom (BZK) ist die häufigste Tumorerkrankung in Mitteleuropa und hat eine hohe medizinische Relevanz. Aufgrund der hohen Rezidivneigung stellt das Rezidivrisiko einen wichtigen Parameter in der Planung der Therapie dar. Nach klinisch-histologischer Diagnosestellung wird der überwiegende Teil der Tumoren operativ behandelt, wenngleich auch strahlentherapeutische sowie topische Verfahren in bestimmten Konstellationen mögliche therapeutische Alternativen darstellen. Für die seltenen metastasierten und lokal fortgeschrittenen Karzinome wurde kürzlich mit den Hedgehog-Inhibitoren eine völlig neue Substanzklasse zur Zulassung gebracht und das Behandlungsspektrum damit bedeutend erweitert. Der vorliegende Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über die aktuelle leitliniengerechte Diagnostik und Therapie von BZK.
