Zusammenfassung

In der Öffentlichkeit und selbst in der Klinik wird häufig davon ausgegangen, dass Demenz eine Erkrankung ausschließlich des höheren Lebensalters sei. Dies liegt vor allem auch daran, dass sich demenzielle Erkrankungen im jüngeren Lebensalter häufig atypisch manifestieren und außerdem entzündliche, metabolische und genetische Erkrankungen vermehrt berücksichtigt werden müssen.
