Zusammenfassung

Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) beschreibt eine Gruppe seltener Erkrankungen, die mit erhöhter Knochenbruchneigung einhergehen. Neben dem Hauptsymptom der Frakturen ist OI durch eine Vielzahl pädiatrischer, kinderorthopädischer und anästhesiologischer Herausforderungen gekennzeichnet. Die multidisziplinäre Expertise konzentriert sich zumeist an spezialisierten Zentren. Minimierung der Frakturrate, Vorbeugung und Behandlung von Deformitäten, Schmerzreduktion und Mobilitätsverbesserung sind wichtige Behandlungsziele der OI. Neben medikamentösen Therapien finden konservative und operative Maßnahmen ihre Anwendung. Geplante Eingriffe an den Extremitäten zählen zu den häufigsten Operationen bei Kindern mit OI. Hierfür kommen unterschiedliche intramedulläre Nägel zum Einsatz. Dieser Beitrag soll wichtige Aspekte der multidisziplinären Betreuung von Kindern mit OI anhand der Versorgung der unteren Extremität erläutern.
