In der Virtuellen Realität haben die Anwendenden das Gefühl, sich in einer computererschaffenen Welt zu befinden (Immersion). Störungsrelevantes emotionales Erleben lässt sich mit Virtueller Realität gut aktivieren und bearbeiten. In der Psychotherapie ist sie deshalb für manche Entitäten bereits ein evidenzbasiertes Hilfsmittel.

Etwa 15% entwickeln Absetzsymptome nach Stopp von Antidepressiva

Werden Noceboeffekte abgezogen, so entwickelt rund ein Siebtel Absetzsymptome nach dem Ende einer Antidepressivatherapie, bei 3% sind diese schwerwiegend. Letztere treten vor allem nach dem Stopp von Imipramin, Venlafaxin und Paroxetin auf.
