Der Morbus Sinding-Larsen-Johansson ist ein sportbezogenes überlastungsbedingtes Beschwerdebild des vorderen Kniegelenks bei Jugendlichen im Wachstumsalter. Die Diagnostik besteht aus Anamnese, klinischer Untersuchung und Sonografie. Weitere radiologische Untersuchungen dienen vornehmlich zum Ausschluss anderer Pathologien. Die Therapie umfasst konservative Maßnahmen und eine temporäre Reduktion der sportlichen Belastungen. Nur selten ist bei verbleibendem schmerzhaften Ossikel am unteren Patellapol nach Wachstumsabschluss eine arthroskopische Entfernung indiziert. Für die betroffenen Sportler und Eltern ist das Verständnis des selbstlimitierenden Verlauf des Morbus Sinding-Larsen-Johansson bedeutsam, da die Symptome in unterschiedlicher Intensität bis zu 12 Monaten und länger persistieren können.
