Stellenwert der psychotherapeutisch mitgeprägten Behandlungsverfahren in der Gerontopsychiatrie und -psychotherapie

Zusammenfassung

Für die psychotherapeutisch mitgeprägten Behandlungsverfahren wie Ergotherapie und künstlerische Therapien liegt eine zunehmende Evidenz zur Wirksamkeit bei der Behandlung von gerontopsychiatrischen Erkrankungen wie Altersdepression, Demenzerkrankung oder Delirien vor. Die individuellen Interventionen nutzen auf unterschiedliche Weisen die Förderung von Fähigkeiten und Aktivität und können einen psychologischen Prozess eröffnen, in dem Betroffene in Kontakt mit ihrem eigenen Denken, Handeln und Erleben kommen sowie ein Gefühl der Autonomie und Selbstbestimmung erfahren. Sie bahnen nicht selten auch die Fähigkeit und Bereitschaft der Erkrankten, die multimodalen Therapien einzugehen, einer möglicherweise notwendigen Pharmakotherapie zuzustimmen und psychotherapeutisch engagiert mitzuarbeiten.
