Abstract
Leptospirosis is a global zoonotic disease caused by some Leptospira species but relatively mild in the horse except for blindness due to recurrent uvitis. The aim of the current investigation was to detect equine leptospiral antibodies using the latex agglutination test in Golestan, Kerman, and Yazd provinces, Iran. A total of 180 serum samples were collected from clinically healthy horses at nine race clubs in Golestan, Yazd, and Kerman provinces, Iran, and evaluated by the latex agglutination test commercial kit. Based on the results, antibodies were detected in 44 sera (24.44%) among 180 samples. It is recommended to observe important health tips which play an important role in the disease epidemiology.
