Successful resuscitation is the most important determinant of survival after a cardiopulmonary arrest [1]. Like resuscitation, training healthcare providers in the performance of resuscitation is a demanding job. The classic apprenticeship model of medical teaching “see one, do one, teach one” may not be sufficient in resuscitation training due to the rarity and unpredictable timing of events. With increasing emphasis on providing quality care and concerns about patient safety, resuscitating patients without mastering the knowledge and skills for novice residents/ fellows is a cause of concern. …
