In the era of evidence-based medicine, clinicians, scientists, and policymakers have to screen large amounts of information in short periods of time to stay up-to-date. Journal abstracts play a crucial role in this process. Based on the abstract, readers commonly decide whether they should invest time in obtaining and reading the full text.
